2025 Model Y Juniper Refresh: Price Hike Worth It?

The 2025 Model Y is finally here with the Juniper refresh, sporting a new look inside and out. But with a $7,500 price jump for the RWD and $3,500 for the Long Range, the big question is: are these upgrades worth the extra cash?

The exterior redesign and interior enhancements, including a larger touchscreen and rear passenger display, definitely add to the appeal. But with no changes to the drivetrain, some might argue the price increases, particularly for the RWD, are a bit steep. What do you think? Is the refreshed design enough to justify the higher cost, or is Tesla pushing its luck?

While the range bumps are minimal, the faster 0-100km/h times are a welcome improvement. However, is this enough to sway potential buyers, especially with competitors like the XPENG G6, BYD Sealion 7, and Zeekr 7x entering the market? How does the Model Y’s value proposition hold up against these new rivals?

The Long Range, with its dual-motor AWD and upgraded sound system, seems to offer a more compelling package for the extra $10,000. But is the RWD now overpriced, or does it still represent good value in the EV SUV segment? Let’s discuss.

I predict the Long Range will be the more popular choice. Its enhanced performance and features seem to justify the price premium over the RWD. What are your predictions for the sales split between the two variants?

With the Performance variant reportedly delayed, what impact will this have on overall Model Y sales in 2025? Will potential buyers opt for the Long Range instead, or hold out for the Performance model?
