Tesla bringing back the turn signal stalk to the Model 3 raises some interesting questions about design philosophy and user experience. Is this a tacit admission that removing all physical controls was a step too far? Or is it simply a pragmatic response to customer feedback? Perhaps Tesla is realizing that a blend of physical and digital controls offers the most intuitive and user-friendly experience. I’m curious to hear from Model 3 owners what aspects of the stalkless design they found challenging, and whether the return of the stalk addresses those issues.
This also makes me wonder about the future of the Cybertruck's completely stalkless design. Will Tesla eventually reintroduce physical controls there as well? I predict we’ll see a gradual shift back towards physical controls across the Tesla lineup. This might even extend beyond stalks to include other functions. What controls do you think would benefit from a physical counterpart? Is there a risk that Tesla is sacrificing its minimalist aesthetic for practicality? Or does this represent a smart evolution in design thinking? Lets discuss.
