Xpeng entering the UK market in March 2025 with the G6, a Tesla Model Y rival, has me thinking: could this be the beginning of the end for Tesla's dominance? The Independent's glowing review, describing the G6 as a Tesla Model Y with the benefit of hindsight, certainly paints a compelling picture. With advanced features like an 800V platform, 354-mile range, and sophisticated driver-assistance systems, is Xpeng truly offering a superior EV experience?

Even more intriguing is the potential arrival of the X9, a self-driving MPV/SUV hybrid. Imagine a seven-seater with massage features and full autonomy navigating UK roads. Are we on the cusp of a self-driving revolution, or is this just futuristic hype?

IM Group's ambitious plan to introduce five Xpeng models by 2027 raises questions. Can Xpeng deliver on its promises, and will its technology-first approach truly disrupt the EV landscape? Will established players like Tesla be forced to adapt, or will they maintain their market share?

I'm particularly interested in the discussion of pricing. A potential price point 5-8% lower than the Model Y could be a game-changer. However, will this lower price compromise quality or features? What are your thoughts on Xpeng's strategy, and how do you see it impacting the wider EV market?
