Tesla's official Apple Watch app: Game-changer or underwhelming?

The long-awaited Tesla Apple Watch app is finally here, bundled with the 2024.44.25 holiday update. But is it everything we hoped for? Early impressions are…mixed. While some features like lock/unlock, climate control, and frunk access are undeniably convenient, the initial rollout seems limited. Older Teslas, like the Model X, appear to be getting a stripped-down version with only basic functionality.

This begs the question: is a limited rollout a strategic move by Tesla, or simply a consequence of supporting older models? Will feature parity eventually come to all supported vehicles?

Furthermore, how does this official app stack up against third-party alternatives? While the peace of mind of an official app is a strong selling point, some third-party apps already offer a wider range of features. Could this push third-party developers to innovate even further, or will the official app eventually become the dominant choice?

And the burning question on everyone's mind: what about Fart on Contact? Apparently, this highly anticipated feature isn't universally available yet. Is this a staged rollout, or are some Teslas simply destined to remain fart-free? More importantly, will the real-world experience live up to the hype?

Weigh in with your thoughts, experiences, and predictions. Is this the beginning of a seamless Tesla smartwatch experience, or just another incremental update? Let the discussion begin.
