I was scrolling through a student forum the other night, and something caught my eye. Someone had typed, “can someone take my proctored exam for me?” It didn’t feel shocking, honestly. It felt familiar.
A lot of students reach that point where the stress piles up. Deadlines, part-time jobs, family expectations, and then a timed online test watching every move. In that moment, people start searching for shortcuts.
But the bigger conversation should probably be about why students feel that desperate in the first place. Proctored exams are meant to protect academic honesty, yet they also add pressure and anxiety. Maybe universities need to think more about balance—strong rules, but also better support for students who feel overwhelmed.
